Welcome to the Colonial Sports Homepage
2012 CHILDREN"S SPRING LEAGUE REGISTRATIONS ARE NOW OPEN.
This Spring we are offering Developmental Soccer (pre-K and K), Match Play Soccer (1st - 8th grade), T-Ball (Kindergarten & 1st grade), and our first ever Machine Pitch Baseball (2nd - 5th grade) League. To regsiter for any of these leagues, click the desired sport on the left side and follow the steps to register. Registration for both Match Play and Developmental soccer will close on March 12. Registration for Machine Pitch Baseball will close April 2, and will close for T-ball on April 3. We are also looking to have our first Children's "Special Needs" sports ministry this Spring, details below.
2012 SPRING "SPECIAL NEEDS" SPORTS MINISTRY POSSIBILITY.
We are excited about the possibility of having our first “Special Needs” sports ministry this spring season for children ranging from 5 years old to 12 years old. We have reserved the gym for 6 Saturday mornings in April & May and below is a link that will be used to determine interest in the league and what sport(s) is/are played; Basketball, T-Ball, or Soccer. Jerseys and end of season trophies will be supplied. The anticipated fee to participate in this league will be $25. While we will need parent coaches, we believe we will also have “buddies” from other ministries that will also be able to help.
As the gym has a middle curtain that can be lowered, if the interest is great enough, we could divide the gym in half and be able to offer two sports this season.
As our Sports Ministry serves as an “outreach” to our community, please invite those you think might be interested. Upon gauging the interest for the month of January, we will have a league meeting on February 16th in the Cafe from 6:00pm – 7:30pm in which we would request a parent or guardian of each participant to attend.

2012 SPRING Men’s Spring Open Soccer Day and/or the Spring Soccer League!
As we did last Fall, we will have a Men's "Open Soccer Day" on March 10th from 9am-Noon. Pleae invite friends and co-workers to join us for the morning to see if they might want play this Spring. For the Spring League, all games will be played at Colonial on Saturday's; game times will rotate between playing at either 7:45am and/or 4:30pm. If we are able to field 6 teams, the third time slot will be on Saturdays at 5:45pm. Games will be a total of 60 minutes. Practice will be on Mondays from 6:00pm-7:15pm. To help create "equally skilled" teams we will have an evaluation day on March 24th. The Registration fee for this League is $60. Players will be provided a shirt/jersey. While we will have a licensed referee calling the games, as with most male sports we are expecting HEALTHY competition, the purpose for the league is to allow men the ability to play soccer, build friendships, and share God's Word. In an attempt to keep the fields in good condition throughout the season, we ask that you do not use metal or "screw in" cleats. Games will start April 14th and will end May 26th for a total of 7 games.

COACHES
"The opportunity to be blessed by coaching in the developmental league was tremendous! While it can be a challenge (at times) to keep up with some high energy four and five year olds, it is such a blessing to be able to not only teach them the fundamentals of the great game of soccer, but also share the Word of God with them each week in devotionals that they can understand. Many of the kids have never played the game of soccer before so you really have the chance to see some marked progress in just six weeks. But, more importantly, you get to teach them about Christ's great love for them and about playing the game as good sports in a God-honoring way. I would encourage anyone that loves the Lord, loves working with kids, and has (even a little) aptitude or passion for soccer to get involved and be blessed!" Coach Scott Rutledge
