All basketball camps have been cancelled due to health concerns over corona virus. Full refunds will be given to those who have signed up. Soccer camp is still open!
We host two separate weeks of basketball summer camps consisting of 3 available sessions! The three sessions are separate from each other, and you may register for multiple sessions by completing the separate registration forms. Instructor to player ratio is usually ~12:1.
The camp instructions will be geared to the appropriate ages of the children. The camp is for children 5-14\. The younger ages will have drills that are more “fun” in nature for this particular age range, while the older children will have more technical drills to improve their skills. Kayelyn Rochester, an experienced basketball coach at Wake Christian, leads all the sessions.
We ask that you meet in the lobby outside the gym Monday morning between 8:40 – 9:00 am for check-in, and then closer to 9:00 am the remaining days. We will have someone there to check in your children as well as to answer any questions or requests that you may have. Please have your child wear shorts, t-shirt, and either basketball or running shoes.
Lastly, if you know of any other families that may be interested in being a part of this camp, we would love to have them join us as well.
We are looking forward to being able to work with your child for that week on basketball, as well as to be able to share with them the truth of God’s Word!
The cost for the camps is $95.
Week 1: Beginner/Intermediate Camp –
This camp will be for players who are still developing a love for the game or are at a lower skill level. Unless your child has played multiple seasons of organized basketball, this is the camp for them! We will cover the essential skills of basketball including dribbling, passing, shooting, rebounding, and defense.
The morning session will be from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm each day, and the afternoon session will run from 3:30 – 6:30 pm each afternoon. Historically, we have had fewer participants in the afternoon session. If we fail to meet the minimum number of registrations for the afternoon session, all who registered will receive a full refund.
Week 2: Advanced Camp –
The advanced camp only takes place as a morning session from 9:00 – 12:30 pm each day. This camp will be geared for players who are more advanced, and looking to take their game to the next level. If your child has played multiple seasons of organized basketball, they will be challenged, but fit well in this camp. We will cover the essential skills of basketball including dribbling, passing, shooting, rebounding, and defense just like in our basic’s camp, but at a much more challenging level. We will also be running agility ladders, slide drills, hurdles and other drills that will focus on their footwork, stability, and stamina in relation to the five essential skills.
