Youth Basketball FAQ

Will my family be required to wear a mask?

  • All spectators and coaches must wear a mask for the entire duration of practices and games they are attending (unless under the age of 5).
  • Basketball players will be required to wear a mask upon arrival and any any time they are not on the court. Once a participant is on the court, they can remove their mask. When exiting, they must put it back on.

Where will I be able to sit during activities? 

  • All spectators will be required to sit in chairs that will be placed around the court by crossroads sports staff.  These chairs will be socially distanced.
  • DO not move chairs. All chairs are in designated spots and must remain there for the duration of the game.
  • 2 spectators per participant will be allowed in the building at a time.

What is expected of me prior to attending practices and games?

  • All participants, staff, and spectators are required to self-monitor and conduct self-assessment screenings for COVID-19 related symptoms prior to attending any athletic events. Temperature checks are encouraged. Any individual experiencing symptoms such as fever, cough, or shortness of breath should stay home.
  • If a participant, staff, official or spectator has been diagnosed with COVID-19, they will be excluded from athletic activities until they can answer YES to the following: ✓ No fever for at least 72 hours since recovery (without fever reducing medicine) AND ✓ Other symptoms have improved AND ✓ At least 10 days have passed since first symptoms
  • Frequent hand washing and/or use of hand sanitizer is encouraged. All participants and staff are required to wash hands or sanitize upon arrival, after contact with other individuals, and after performing cleaning or disinfecting activities. Restrooms and/or hand sanitizer stations will be available at each facility.

When can I enter and leave the building? 

  • All participants are encouraged to stay in their vehicles until 10 minutes before their scheduled activity start time. This will allow the attendees in the prior event time to make their way out of the gym.
  • All participants are encouraged to leave immediately after the games end. We cannot have anyone staying around after the games or practices.

Can we bring snacks for our team?

  • NO snacks or drinks after the games.

Will there be water at the practices or games?

  • Bring adequate water because the water fountains will not be on.

Will there be anything different about gameplay?

  • Children cannot bring their own ball to the game.
  • No hand shaking or high fives during or after the game.
  • Balls will be cleaned before each new game.

Will there be any sanitization methods?

  • Balls will be cleaned before each new game.
  • Hand sanitizer stations will be placed at the entrances.
  • Doors will be opened to allow airflow in.
